Mykonos

Mykonos was by far our favorite stop in Greece. It was the perfect mix of relaxing and adventurous, with a fun bar scene. Here are the top 5 things we did with only 3 days on the island.

When we went: Early May

Where we stayed: Harmony Hotel Boutique

#1: Set Sail Mykonos

Our full day with Set Sail Mykonos was probably in the top 5 days of our lives. We signed up for a full day sailing tour on setsailmykonos.com and since it was early May, we were very lucky and ended up having the boat to ourselves. We had lunch and wine on-board and we’re taken to the unpopulated island of Rhenia. They took us in their dingy to the beach, allowed us to have the entire island to ourselves for two hours and came back to get us. Unreal! We are still friends with them on Facebook, so say hi for us when you book a tour!

#2: Rent a quad and get lost

Find any quad rental shop near your hotel, grab a paper map and drive around the entire island. Mykonos is small enough that you can drive the whole thing on a quad in just a few hours. We didn’t have a plan and stumbled across private remote beaches with little beach bars, donkeys on the side of the road and small chapels everywhere! This also probably makes the top 10 days of our lives.

#3 Windmills

We had a great time finding windmills around the island. There are the famous ones on the water that you can’t miss, but we also walked up to one of the old broken down windmills on a hill overlooking the city. The view was the best we found. There is a fun bar/ restaurant right on the water with a view of the windmills called Veranda Mykonos. Make a reservation for sunset!

#4 Super Paradise Beach

You can’t miss Super Paradise Beach. We rode our Quad here, but if you are going to spend the day partying here we recommend taking a bus or grabbing a taxi. This will likely be one of the best beach parties you will ever attend.

#5 Bar HoppinG & Blue Myth Restaurant

The nightlife in Mykonos is so fun! We don’t have any specific recommendations, but save time to bar hop, eat lots of Greek food and do some buzzed shopping in the white painted buildings. Blue Myth is a bit far from Mykonos town, but worth the taxi ride. The restaurant is located in Psarroy on a gorgeous quiet cove. Great for a romantic date night.

Safe Travels!
