Santorini

When we Went: Early May

Where we Stayed: Dreams Hotel Luxury Suites: Armonia Suite

#1 Infinity Pool Suite

If you can budget accordingly and are able to splurge on your hotel room anywhere in Greece, Santorini is the place to do it! We stayed at very affordable hotels everywhere else in Greece to splurge on a cave style suite on a cliff with a private infinity pool and Jacuzzi. We stayed in the Armonia Suite at the Dreams Luxury Suites and we never wanted to leave. The photos speak for themselves!

#2 Hike the Caldera

Hundreds of years ago, Santorini had a major volcanic explosion leaving it in the iconic shape that it is now. We did a tour and took a boat across the water to the caldera. We jumped from the boat and swam in the volcanic hot springs, then hiked to the top of the caldera and watched steam still coming out. This is a must do when in Santorini!

#3 Santorini Wineries

We did a wine tour around Santorini and tasted some amazing wines and learned about Vinsanto that we took home to age for 5 years! We recommend saving money, skipping the guided tour and picking a few to take a taxi to.

#4 Sunset at Oia

If you don’t stay in Oia, spend the $20 to take a taxi there for the famous sunset. This was the most beautiful sunset we’ve ever seen. Everyone gathers on the ruins at the top of the hill…and you can’t miss it.

#5 Food

We don’t have a favorite restaurant, but eat as much as you can! We had Greek salad at every meal. It is very different than Greek salads in the US. If you see Watermelon Feta Salad, get it every time! We also stumbled upon cactus vodka…yes vodka made from cactus and it was SO good! Enjoy!

Safe Travels,
