3 Days in NYC

NYC is enormous and everyone told us we couldn't see everything we wanted to in 3 days. While there is never enough time in New York, we managed to hit almost all of the top stops on our wish list with a few pre-sunrise wake up calls, late nights and power naps. Here are the highlights!

#1 Sunrise Walk over the Brooklyn Bridge

We have been to some gorgeous places around the world, but this sunrise walk left me speechless. Set an alarm for about 45 minutes before sunrise, hop in a cab to Brooklyn and walk back towards the city to watch the sun come up over Manhattan and skip the crowds. You won't regret it!

#2 Make a Reservation at R Lounge

R Lounge is located at the Renaissance Hotel Times Square and has direct views of Times Square with tables facing their floor to ceiling windows. One of the best dinner views we have ever had!

#3 Get on the Today Show

Mornings are always great when they start with the Today Show...and they are even better when they start with the Today Show in person! We got in line for the Today Show around 5:45am and managed to grab a spot close to the railing in the plaza. I recommend getting there at 5am if you want front row center. Even with the "late" arrival we still met Hoda and Al, and got on TV!

#4 World Trade Center Memorial/ Stock Exchange/ Charging Bull

We hit the World Trade Center, New York Stock Exchange and Charging Bull Statue all at once by walking through the financial district. The walk is over a mile, but you can end at Battery Park and catch the ferry to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty!

#5 Statue of Liberty

Catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. We plan everything last minute, but if you plan ahead you can go to the top of the Statue of Liberty to the crown or up on the pedestal for an extra fee! At Ellis Island we spent some time on their computers trying to find family members that passed through!
