San Diego

Matt moved back to San Diego in high school and Kelsey moved for college. Between the two of us we have over 16 years in the city and lots of advice to provide. We will continue to add to this list of our favorite places over time!

Beaches

Pacific Beach

Head down Garnet Ave for bars, shops and restaurants. This is where you will find the beach nightlife.

Mission Beach

Mission Beach has a fun roller coaster and board walk with easy parking.

Coronado Beach

You can take the Coronado Bridge over to Coronado Island or take a ferry from downtown. We love the beach that faces the city, but the large gorgeous ocean facing beach is located at the Hotel Del Coronado.

La Jolla

La Jolla is a bit north of downtown, but it's a beautiful upscale neighborhood with high end shops and restaurants. The beach is clean and gorgeous and you can check out the cliffs and sea lions!

Restaurants

Tom Ham's Lighthouse

This is where we got married...so we're a little biased, but you can't beat the brunch or the view from the deck here! It is close to the airport so it makes for an easy first or last stop.

Mr. A's

Mr. A's sits at the top of the hill overlooking downtown San Diego and the bay. It is a very nice restaurant that requires reservations, so book ahead of time for a special date night.

Mona Lisa's

Mona Lisa's is an Italian restaurant, deli and market in Little Italy. Their deli has our favorite sandwiches in the world. We always go for the italian sub and caprese with avocado!

Last, but not least, have as much Mexican food as possible. We love Lolita's by Petco Park.
